Gluten free, sugar free, dairy free all-natural banana bread – the way nature intended.
I’m just going to come right out and say it: I love banana bread.
When I make this banana bread, I can hardly keep it around for more than a few days because I eat it so quickly. The combination of sweet bananas and spice all swirled together in a creamy batter is an absolute dream.
Banana bread has long been one of my favorite baked treats. I love having it for breakfast or as a snack and I’ve been making it since I was little. I remember my mom would make it for us as a treat and it was always my favorite.
As I’ve grown and shifted towards a cleaner diet, I’ve tried to find new ways to make healthier gluten free banana bread without the standard white sugar, flour, and dairy.
I’ve attempted a number of sugar/gluten/dairy free banana breads, but I’ve always been disappointed. This is the real deal.
This banana bread recipe has a fantastic texture thanks to rolled oats and silky maple syrup. Somehow – by a stroke of magic or luck – it’s both fluffy and dense at the same time.
The best part is that this loaf is made entirely with nourishing foods that you’d eat otherwise: oatmeal, bananas, maple syrup, spices, and earthy/sweet pecans or walnuts (if you want). I used my favorite Gluten Free 1:1 Baking Flour by Bob’s Red Mill and you wouldn’t even know the difference.
It’s currently my favorite breakfast… and snack, and dessert 🙈
I suggest topping a fat slice with your choice of nut butter, jam, vegan butter, fresh bananas, and sea salt, and you’ve got yourself a crave-worthy breakfast or afternoon delight.
Good luck not eating the entire loaf in three days like I did this week…
Let’s get right to it, shall we?
